John Ryan is one of Ireland's finest potters, having spent decades honing his craft in the country's top workshop and honing his craft while travelling in countries such as Japan and the Middle East. With all of his expertise, education, and experience, John was able to open his own pottery studio. All of this has contributed to his 20-year-long success with his pottery business in Sligo.
His pottery is basic, authentic, well-made, and skilled. Keeping faithful to the charm of the west of Ireland's roaming hills and huge countryside. The pottery captures the inherent beauty of working with clay while using a simple, limited colour palette.
Handthrown stoneware Medium Conical Jug, glazed in food-friendly silk matt glaze to enhance their simple elegant lines. These contemporary straight sided jugs are great for the table for holding water or used as a vase. This lovely conical is a great size for having a summer garden dinner party, works great on the centre table with juice or water. The conical jug matches in nicely with a rustic style or modern contemporary home.
