Banksy Girl with balloons
Handcrafted wall art made from recycled metal, - Oil barrels. '3-D' Girl with Balloons.
Perhaps Banksy's most well-known work of art is Flying Balloon Girl. It was painted on a wall in Israel's West Bank in 2005, and it conveys a powerful political message to those who see it.
Many people believe that the piece represents the children who are caught in the middle of the conflict between Israel and Palestine and who long to be able to fly away to freedom.
This unique handmade artwork is the perfect artwork to hang anywhere throughout the house. Equally can be put in an outdoors / Garden space.
Controversial as it may be, Bansky's images generally are not subject to copyright given his anonymity as an Artist - This was upheld by a 2020 ruling in the European Union Intellectual Property Office.
There are 2 basic requirements for an Artwork to be protected by copyright - 1. It must be original - which of course Bansky is but 2. It must be composed on a fixed medium - Copyright issues are further compounded for Bansky given his Anonymity as an Artist.
As Bansky himself said in his 2005 Book 'Wall & Piece - "Copyright is for Losers"
Generally, as a rule of thumb, if an Artwork is free to be photographed in the public domain, then copyright protections are surrendered.
