Hanging Calabash Ceiling Light

These lampshades made from Calabash are traditionally handcrafted. The filigree hole patterns in the colourful lampshades create a cosy & warm atmosphere.

Calabash is a fruit that is widely cultivated in Africa, Asia, Central and South America, and the Caribbean. As a result of its well-documented healing properties, it is sometimes referred to as "The Miracle Fruit." It is high in vitamin B1, vitamin C, calcium, iron, sodium, and potassium, among other nutrients.

Because of its numerous applications, it is referred to as the Tupperware tree in Africa. It is possible to make a variety of utensils, ornaments, and musical instruments out of the dried shell of the fruit after it has been dried. The dried shells can be used to make bowls for drinking and eating, as well as containers for transporting liquids.

The sizes of the shade vary approx 30cm in diameter.
